Who we are
Since our beginning in 2010, Tralee International Resource Centre (TIRC) has responded to the needs of asylum seekers, refugees and the wider international community in the Tralee area.
In that time, the landscape we operate in—both nationally and internationally—has changed considerably. In recent years the arrival of Ukrainian Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs), has required our service to adjust and respond to a very significant increase in our service users.
TIRC has always worked through interagency collaboration and are members of the Kerry Community Integration Forum (led by Kerry County Council); TIRC also sits on many subgroups of this forum, as well as managing the Local Area Response Team, focussed on integration and inclusion for organisations and agencies working in Tralee and West Kerry.
We are a registered charity and are fully compliant with the principles set out in the Charities Regulator Code of Good Governance. In recognition of TIRC’s work, the organisation was awarded a 2022 IPB Pride of Place Award in the Community Resilience category. This all-island competition recognises improvements made by local communities to create civic pride in their area.
