English Classes

English is core to integration as—without the language—integration is very difficult. The provision of free English classes is core to our work and made possible through a dedicated volunteer team.

We hold many classes weekly at different levels, and follow the school-term timetable.

The three levels of classes provided on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are:

  • Foundation (pre-A1)
  • Elementary (A1)
  • Intermediate (A2/B1)

How to Register
We will assess your current level of English using the British Council App Score and then assign you to available classes. If classes are full we will add you to our waiting list. To register your interest please contact olena@tirc.ie. You must be registered to attend classes.

A Volunteer TIRC English Teacher said ...

"Asking for a cup of coffee, needing to exchange something in a shop, looking for directions … all of these can be a big mountain to climb for someone learning English. However, here in TIRC, we welcome many different people wanting to take on the challenge."
