Male IPAs

A Development Worker based in Tralee provides dedicated support to male International Protection Applicants (IPAs) as they start their journey in Ireland. From their initial arrival, the worker offers them practical help with important steps such as updating addresses with the International Protection Office (IPO), accessing daily allowance payments, applying for a medical card, organising medical appointments, and connecting individuals with legal aid services.

As individuals settle in, support continues with guidance on entering the labour market, job searching, signposting to CV-writing supports, and writing Character Reference letters. The development worker also assists individuals in exploring education opportunities, applying for courses, and addressing employment-related queries.

Help is available for completing forms, navigating public services, and providing advocacy when needed. Support is also offered for those seeking citizenship, family reunification, or passport assistance. Beyond practical services, the worker encourages social connections through the International Friends Group and social outings, helping to build a sense of community and belonging. Assistance is provided with any queries that may arise along the way.
